Job Description

The Software Engineering Manager, Automation Delivery leads a team of engineers responsible for the design, development, deployment, and support of enterprise automation solutions across robotic process automation (RPA) and workflow automation platforms, including Microsoft Power Automate Desktop Unattended and Automation Anywhere. This role is accountable for delivering scalable, secure, and resilient automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, reduce risk, and enable business transformation. The manager partners closely with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, platform engineering teams, and risk and compliance partners to establish delivery priorities, govern development practices, and ensure successful implementation of automation initiatives in a highly regulated environment. The role combines people leadership, technology leadership, delivery accountability, and operational ownership.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership

Automation Delivery
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of automation solutions from intake through production support.
  • Prioritize work across automation portfolios to maximize business value and delivery capacity.
  • Ensure solutions meet functional, technical, operational, and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and define implementation roadmaps.
  • Drive successful migration and modernization efforts across automation platforms.
Technical Leadership
  • Provide technical oversight for Power Automate Desktop Unattended and Automation Anywhere solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture, development standards, and automation best practices.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure team to guide design decisions related to resilience, scalability, security, monitoring, and maintainability.
  • Review solution designs, code quality, testing strategies, and deployment readiness.
  • Promote adoption of reusable components, standards, and automation frameworks.
Platform Governance & Risk Management
  • Ensure automation solutions comply with enterprise security, audit, risk, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with governance and platform teams to enforce standards for credential management, access controls, logging, monitoring, and change management.
  • Support audit reviews, risk assessments, and remediation activities.
  • Establish controls that ensure production stability and operational supportability.
Operations & Production Support
  • Oversee production support and incident management processes for automation platforms.
  • Monitor platform health, automation performance, service levels, and operational metrics.
  • Lead resolution of critical incidents and automation outages.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to improve reliability and reduce technical debt.
Stakeholder Management
  • Build strong relationships with business leaders, technology partners, and executive stakeholders.
  • Communicate delivery status, risks, dependencies, and outcomes to leadership.
  • Develop business cases and automation roadmaps aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for automation strategy and platform adoption.
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Experience leading enterprise automation programs or Automation Centers of Excellence.
  • Experience with AI-enabled automation solutions.
  • Knowledge of Azure services, Microsoft Power Platform governance, and application lifecycle management.
  • Experience integrating automation solutions with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, APIs, databases, and cloud services.
  • Familiarity with operational monitoring, observability, and automation platform administration.
  • Relevant certifications in Microsoft Power Platform, Automation Anywhere, Azure, or related technologies.
  • Complete understanding of the team's domain and drives the team's objectives and deliverables with an understanding of adjacent teams' business domains.
  • Complete understanding of a feature, the users impacted, the flows impacted and feature's purpose.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of business strategy and how the technical and engineering strategy aligns with it.
  • Advanced knowledge of information systems technology and software development processes and tools, especially industry specific applications.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, SAFe, engineering delivery practices, and technology transformation programs.
  • Strong analytical, product management, and tactical planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all parties involved in the product team (engineers, product owner, scrum master, third party vendors, customers, etc.).
  • Demonstrated management, leadership and interpersonal skills.

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

Pay Range: $133,365.00 - $156,900.00
