Job summary

Lynx is seeking a senior software leader to drive the delivery of safety-critical edge software. You will lead engineers and contractors, own OS feature delivery, and ensure requirements and timelines align with customer needs and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating with stakeholders, translating complex certification requirements, and guiding the team toward secure, certifiable solutions in demanding environments. Remote opportunities available based on the role.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in software engineering with 3+ years in a management role.
  • Ability to translate complex technical hurdles into clear status updates.
  • Deep expertise in SCRUM/Agile and applying it in safety-critical contexts.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Compensation: $130,000 - 160,000 + Bonus Eligible

  • LYNX MOSA.ic.AI : LYNX MOSA.ic.AI is a unified CPU and GPU software platform that enables deterministic, certifiable deployment of AI and advanced workloads in mission-critical edge systems. It brings control, performance, and lifecycle governance together, allowing AI to operate predictably within safety-critical environments without compromising certification or system integrity.
  • CoreSuite2.0 : CoreSuite2.0 is Lynx’s safety-critical GPU for graphics enablement framework designed for mission-critical edge computing systems. It provides hardware-accelerated graphics, visualization, and video processing capabilities that can be certified for high-assurance systems.
  • Services : Lynx Services is Lynx’s professional services organization that helps customers design, integrate, certify, deploy, and maintain safety- and security-critical systems. It supports industries like aerospace, defense, automotive, and industrial computing through consulting, engineering, integration, and lifecycle support, reducing development risk and accelerating certification in standards-driven, mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Direct and mentor a cross-functional team of software engineers and contractors. You are responsible for career growth, performance management, and resource allocation.
  • Project Execution: Own the delivery lifecycle for OS features. You’ll manage timelines, risks, and dependencies, ensuring that "moving fast" never comes at the expense of "moving safely."
  • Stakeholder Requirements: Act as the primary technical interface with external customers and internal stakeholders to capture, analyze, and refine operational capabilities into structured, actionable systems and software requirements.
  • Regulatory & Airworthiness Compliance: Deep-dive into complex aerospace and safety-critical technical standards to translate rigorous certification requirements into clear, executable engineering actionable items.
Requirements
  • 7+ years in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • The ability to translate complex technical hurdles into clear project status updates for stakeholders.
  • Deep expertise in SCRUM/Agile. You know how to make Agile work in environments where "breaking things" isn't an option.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
Highly desired additional experience:
  • Exposure to safety-critical development processes (DO-178C, ISO 26262).
  • Experience developing systems-level software, including virtualization, OS kernels, or hypervisors for x86/ARM.
