About the Position

We are looking for a Senior Database Development Engineer to deliver features in the database archival technology. Candidates must have strong cloud infrastructure skills and experience with database internals, backup/restore, and desktop infrastructure. The role is part of a scrum team responsible for architecting, developing, testing, and maintaining the service.

Responsibilities include working in an Agile environment, collaborating with top talent, and ensuring secure, high‑performance, and scalable code. The engineer will drive communication across teams, provide design guidance, and maintain operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Own design and development to deliver technical outcomes on product and platform-related issues.
• Help with backlog planning, cross‑team dependency planning, and execute the plan.
• Design and develop high‑quality code to improve archival service reliability, availability, quality, performance, and scalability.
• Develop test strategies, design automation frameworks, and write unit/functional tests to drive code coverage and automation metrics.
• Collaborate with broader engineering teams, architects, and managers to execute strategy for feature areas.
• Own and resolve customer issues with urgency, adhering to customer trust, and drive automation where possible.
• Drive a cross‑team collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, innovation, learning, respect, and transparency while maintaining a high delivery bar.

Requirements

• BS/MS in computer science or a related field.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience developing backup/restore/database features for cloud databases.
• Experience with Scrum in an Agile development environment.
• Prior experience using Kubernetes to build and operate stateful application clusters.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code for large complex systems—helm/terraform.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS (EKS, EC2, IAM, VPC, S3).
• Experience using telemetry and metrics to drive operational excellence is an advantage.
• Deep knowledge of object‑oriented programming and experience with Java or Python.
• Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks and tests.
• CI/CD automation experience, including Jenkins, Spinnaker, and Docker.
• 10+ years in software development with 5+ years in related experience, covering design, coding, testing, and performance characterization.
