You will work in a collaborative Agile environment, managing and guiding the team responsible for building and releasing this new app, ensuring its success and its role as a cornerstone of the company's growth.

As an engineering lead and SME, you will help set technical best practices, mentor less experienced developers, and ensure the application delivers optimal user experience. You will collaborate with Product Management and other department leads to achieve business goals and contribute directly to the app codebase.

In-office Expectations: This position offers remote work flexibility; however, if you reside within a commutable distance to our offices in New York, Des Moines, Birmingham, Los Angeles, Chicago, or Seattle, the expectation is to work from the office three times per month. Experience leading distributed teams across multiple time zones is highly desirable.

About Your Contributions:

  1. Define and realize the technical vision for our mobile app across iOS and Android platforms.
  2. Collaborate with backend engineers to ensure seamless integration between frontend UI and backend APIs.
  3. Monitor app performance using analytics tools and optimize based on user feedback and data.
  4. Work with product teams to incorporate feedback, enhance features, and increase user engagement.
  5. Lead and mentor your development team.

About You:

You possess solid knowledge and recent hands-on experience with modern mobile app development. You have managed or mentored developers and seek growth in leadership.

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in mobile app development, with at least 1 year in a management role.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technical expertise in:
    • React Native and similar frameworks like Flutter, with experience in high-performance, cross-platform app development.
    • Native app development with Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android).
    • Firebase services, including Firestore, Crashlytics, and Push Notifications.
    • App release management, code signing, provisioning, certificates, and CI/CD pipelines.
    • Testing and QA collaboration.
  • Experience with RESTful API integration.
  • Ability to interpret technical strategy and deliver quality products under deadlines.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like Jira.
