Description
BMA is seeking a Software Engineering Lead to join our team. This is a fully remote role.
Job Summary
- Reports to the Project Manager.
- Formulates and defines specifications for complex operating software programming applications or modifies and maintains complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer.
- Provides top-level technical expertise, including performing in-depth and complex software systems programming and analysis.
- Designs architecture, including software, hardware, and communications, to support all requirements and to accommodate present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.
- Ensures systems remain compatible with and compliant to open systems standards and DoD architecture.
- Identifies, assesses, and presents options for meeting functional and technical requirements, including hardware and software updates or upgrades.
- Interacts with project management to plan project schedules and technical direction.
- Develops high-level system design diagrams and program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Instructs, directs, and checks the work of other task personnel.
- Conducts quality assurance reviews and evaluates existing and new software products.
- Provides overall operating system maintenance, including file maintenance routines, telecommunications networks, computer accounting, and advanced mathematical or scientific software packages.
- Supports all phases of software systems programming applications.
- Evaluates new and existing software products.
Clearance Requirements
There is a Secret Security Clearance requirement for this role.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a relevant field.
- Possesses one or more of the following certifications: CSEP, MCSE, CISSP, CASP+, Security+, or CCNP Security.
- Brings over 10 years of experience in systems engineering and software development.
- Possesses more than 5 years of experience working with DLA and/or DoD networks.
- Has demonstrated expertise with MicroStrategy and other Business Intelligence platforms, including analytics, data modeling, and dashboard design.
- Has implemented modern security solutions, including Blockchain and cryptographic methods.
- Has worked extensively with UNIX and/or Linux environments.
- Has utilized DevSecOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and ArgoCD.
- Has operated eDiscovery software for legal, investigative, and compliance workflows.
- Has applied advanced technical knowledge across applications programming, system design, updates, firewalls, storage solutions, and data retrieval methods.
