Job summary

Fervo Energy is offering an undergraduate Software Engineer Intern position on the Strategy and AI team. Youll work on internal tools and data infrastructure, building production-grade code to support real business needs.

Youl collaborate with AI and Strategy teams to design, build, and ship software, and youll present your project results to executives and fellow interns at the end of the summer.

Qualifications

• Rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree.
• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or Java).
• Experience with web frameworks or cloud infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain internal software tools and applications
• Collaborate with the Software Engineering Team to integrate models and data pipelines into usable products
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews

You won't be running coffee orders or shuffling paperwork this summer. Position Description

Fervo Energy is developing next-generation geothermal power to deliver firm, carbon-free energy at scale, anchored by our flagship Cape Station project in Milford, Utah. We're seeking a motivated undergraduate Software Engineer Intern to join our Strategy and AI team, helping build the internal tools and infrastructure that power Fervo's data and AI initiatives. You'll work alongside our AI and Strategy teams to design, build, and ship software that supports real business needs, gaining hands-on experience with production code rather than toy projects.

• Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and adapt quickly to new challenges
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or Java)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with web frameworks, APIs, or cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure)
• Familiarity with AI/ML tooling or interest in applied AI
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, early-stage engineering environment
