Job summary

Fervo Energy is offering an undergraduate Software Engineer Intern role on our Strategy and AI team. You’ll own a project from day one, work with AI and software teams, and ship production-quality code that supports real business needs.

During 12 weeks, you’ll design, build, and maintain internal tools, dashboards, and data pipelines; present results to executives and fellow interns; this is a genuine seat at the table with a path toward full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• Rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a technical field
• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Strong written and verbal communication, with comfort presenting to stakeholders and leadership
• Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and adapt quickly
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python/JS/Java)

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain internal software tools and applications
• Collaborate with the Software Engineering Team to integrate models and data pipelines into usable products

Internship Overview

You won't be running coffee orders or shuffling paperwork this summer. At Fervo, interns are handed something real: a project of your own, scoped with your manager on day one and yours to drive for the full 12 weeks. You'll work side-by-side with the teams building the next generation of geothermal energy, tackling problems that genuinely move the business forward. At the end of the summer, you'll present your work to our executive leadership team, department leads, and fellow interns, sharing real results with a real audience. Position Description

Fervo Energy is developing next-generation geothermal power to deliver firm, carbon-free energy at scale, anchored by our flagship Cape Station project in Milford, Utah. We're seeking a motivated undergraduate Software Engineer Intern to join our Strategy and AI team, helping build the internal tools and infrastructure that power Fervo's data and AI initiatives.

You’ll work alongside our AI and Strategy teams to design, build, and ship software that supports real business needs, gaining hands-on experience with production code rather than toy projects.
