Job summary

Medline Industries, LP is offering a Software Engineering Intern position as part of a 10-week summer program in the Chicagoland area. You will work with experienced engineers on features for warehouse management and e‑commerce platforms, gaining hands-on experience across the full development lifecycle.

The internship emphasizes collaboration in an Agile environment, code reviews, unit tests, and exposure to front‑end and back‑end technologies.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
• Experience with Java and/or JavaScript through coursework, projects, or internships.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, or Next.js.
• Familiarity with SQL databases and Git.
• Knowledge of Spring, Hibernate, Maven, Selenium, Jasmine, or Karma is a plus.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; team collaboration.
• Unrestricted permanent U.S. work authorization.

Job Description

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work alongside experienced software engineers to design, develop, test, deploy, and support applications that drive Medline’s Warehouse Management Systems and E‑Commerce platforms. This role provides exposure to both front‑end and back‑end development, allowing interns to contribute across the software development lifecycle while collaborating in an agile, team‑oriented environment.

• Rising senior or junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
• Experience with Java and/or JavaScript through coursework, projects, or internships.
• Understanding of object‑oriented programming principles and software design concepts.
• Exposure to modern front‑end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, or Next.js.
• Familiarity with databases and SQL.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Knowledge of frameworks and tools such as Spring, Hibernate, Maven, Selenium, Jasmine, or Karma is a plus.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and adapt quickly to new technologies.
• Unrestricted permanent U.S. work authorization.

The Anticipated Salary Range For This Position

$23.25 - $33.75 Hourly

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
