Job summary

RTX's Pratt & Whitney division is seeking a software tools internship in Melbourne, FL. You will support the Tools Team in developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting engineering tools across the software lifecycle.

You'll assist Software and Systems Engineering with CI/CD pipelines, building processes, configuration management, and development environments, and contribute to tool enhancements and automation to boost reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related STEM major and enrolled through internship/co-op.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by start of internship/co-op.

What You Will Do

As an intern you will support the Tools Team in the development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of engineering tools used throughout the software development and verification lifecycle.

• Assist Software and Systems Engineering teams in diagnosing and resolving issues related to CI/CD pipelines, building processes, configuration management, and development environments.
• Contribute to tool enhancements and automation initiatives aimed at improving reliability, efficiency, and overall workflow effectiveness across development and verification activities.

Qualifications

Qualifications You Must Have

Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship/co-op session.

Experience in C++, C, and/or Python. Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Embedded or real-time avionics software experience.
• Experience across multiple phases of the software lifecycle.
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, Confluence, Jama, and SVN.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
