Job summary

Parsons is seeking an amazingly talented software engineering intern to join our team, working with both software and hardware engineers on ground-based directed energy systems. You will participate in design reviews, sprint planning, coding, testing, and debugging, while learning the team’s tools and workflows in a hands-on engineering environment.

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or software engineering.
Major GPA greater than 3.0.
Must be a US citizen.
Ability to work well in a team as well as independently.
Experience with one or more programming languages (C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Rust, etc.).

Responsibilities

Develop software that supports ground-based directed energy systems, working alongside experienced software and hardware engineers.
Collaborate with hardware engineers, technicians, and field support representatives to understand requirements and solve technical challenges.
Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, code reviews, and other team activities.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code using software engineering best practices.
Test and debug software, investigate issues, and help improve reliability and performance.
Learn the team's development tools and workflows while contributing to hands‑on engineering projects.
