Job summary

Parsons is seeking an amazingly talented Embedded Software Engineer Intern to join our team in Columbia, MD. You will learn from brilliant engineers, participate in all steps of the software engineering process, and gain hands-on experience developing in C/C++ and Python within a Linux environment.

This 3–6 month internship offers flexible start/end dates. The role requires US citizenship and provides growth opportunities, competitive benefits, and exposure to hardware-software integration

Qualifications

• Qualified candidate must be in progress of obtaining a BS degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline.
• Must be a US citizen.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience working in a Linux development environment.
• Basic programming experience in at least one object-oriented or systems programming language, such as C, C++, Rust, or Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, debug, and document software in a collaborative engineering environment.
• Write software in C/C++ and Python for applications that interact with hardware, sensors, communications systems, or other constrained environments.
• Work in a Linux development environment using Git and standard software development tools.
• Troubleshoot issues across software, hardware, and system interfaces.
• Collaborate with engineers from software, electrical, systems, and test disciplines.
• Participate in requirements analysis, design discussions, code reviews, integration, and system testing.

Salary Range: $22.93 - $40.14
