Job summary

Datadog, Inc. is seeking Software Engineering Interns to contribute to the observability and security platform across backend, frontend, and infrastructure domains.

You will work with mentors to design, build, and improve systems processing large-scale metrics and logs in real time. You’ll gain hands-on experience with Kubernetes, distributed systems, and cloud-native infrastructure while collaborating with interns and engineers across global teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Targeting a 2028 full-time start date.
• Strong CS fundamentals including data structures and algorithms.
• Comfortable coding in one or more languages and open to AI-assisted tools.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to production systems processing large-scale observability data in real time.
• Build and improve distributed backend, platforms, and cloud-native services.
• Address performance, reliability, and scalability challenges in critical services.
• Own and deliver technical projects from design to deployment with mentorship.
• Develop expertise with Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure.
