Job summary

Datadog is seeking Software Engineering Interns to scale systems powering its observability and security platform. Interns contribute across backend, frontend, infrastructure, data engineering, and tooling while mentored by experienced engineers.

You will design, build, and improve systems processing large-scale metrics, logs, and data in real time, with exposure to Kubernetes and cloud-native services. Hybrid work supports work-life harmony across Boston or New York offices.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical degree.
• Targeting a 2028 full-time start date.
• Strong CS fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Comfortable coding in one or more languages and open to AI-assisted tools.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to production systems processing real-time observability data.
• Build and improve distributed backend/infrastructure services.
• Address performance, reliability, and scalability across critical systems.
• Own and deliver technical projects from design to deployment with mentor support.]
• Develop expertise with Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Collaborate with interns and engineers to deliver impact at global scale.
