Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a Backend Software Engineering Intern for the summer in New York. You will own a meaningful backend project end-to-end and work directly with experienced engineers on a real-team, real-world financial platform.

You’ll dive into Python/Django or Go, relational databases, and distributed systems, shipping code that meets strict correctness and scale requirements while collaborating across Robinhood’s engineering organization.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a full-time degree program with an expected graduation date Winter 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Strong CS fundamentals and understanding of best coding practices.
• Familiarity with Python/Django or Go, and an understanding of relational databases and transactions.
• Prior software engineering experience from internships, hackathons, or personal projects.

Responsibilities

• Own a high-impact backend project end-to-end from initial scoping through to production.
• You’ll be embedded on a real team, shipping software that meets the correctness and scale requirements of a live financial platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Robinhood to solve critical problems that span the organization.
• Design, build, test, and release scalable backend solutions using technologies such as Python/Django, Go, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, Memcached, AWS, and Kubernetes.
