Job summary

REV Robotics, a fast-growing educational robotics company in Carrollton, TX, is seeking a college student intern to provide software support for new and existing products, focusing on embedded software or end-user libraries. You’ll work closely with REV engineers and administration, testing, debugging, and documenting software as needed.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Engineering, CS or Engineering Technology.
• Experience with FIRST Robotics or similar robotics program preferred.
• Git/GitHub experience is a plus.
• Proficient in programming with IDEs (VS Code, JetBrains, Android Studio, etc.).
• Able to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Flexible schedule and good time management.
• Customer service experience is desirable.

We have a relaxed and friendly office located in Carrollton, TX, just outside of Dallas, and are looking for people who are willing to stretch their abilities to make STEM education materials more accessible and impactful to everyone.

About the role

This college student internship will provide software support for new and existing products, focusing on either embedded software creation or end-user libraries and reference code. In addition, they will assist with testing and debugging as well as software documentation. This position will work directly with REV engineers and administration and may require a variety of tasks throughout the day. REV is committed to providing quality, low-cost educational robotics parts for STEM Education and the Software Engineering/Computer Science student should utilize their skills as necessary in order to support that mission.

Pay range: $18-$22 per hour.

What you'll do

• Contribute to firmware for specific products and parts
• Add to libraries that are used by students for programming

• Other responsibilities as needed to ensure that the goals of REV are met

Qualifications

• Must be a current student enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program working towards a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Engineering Technology
• Two years of experience working on or with a FIRST Robotics team or similar robotics program preferred
• Experience with collaborative development using Git/GitHub a plus
• Experience programming in various IDEs (VS code, Jet Brains, Android Studio, etc.)
• Must have the ability to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision
• Work with a flexible schedule and demonstrate effective time management
• Customer service experience is desirable
