Job summary

A robotics company is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to assist with development projects and research initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software architecture and library RGS.
  • Assist with robotic integrations and installation.
  • Create and maintain documentation for internal and client use.

Location: Williston VT – Office Based Role

Reporting to Jeff Hartnett, Engineering Manager

Hourly Rate: $25.00

As a Software Engineering Intern at Rigorous, you will report to the Engineering Manager. You will assist with current development projects, take on a research project, and contribute fresh ideas and perspectives to the team. You will work closely with our software team, participate in project meetings, and team discussions.

Responsibilities
  • Participate as a multidisciplinary engineering team member.
  • Develop control software/systems for a variety of robotic applications.
  • Develop and maintain the Rigorous software architecture and library RGS.
  • Develop data management, alarm management, remote monitoring, and remote maintenance software tooling.
  • Develop front end widgets and display tools.
  • Deploy software to production systems.
  • Assist with robotic integrations and installation.
  • Assist with mechanical and electrical assembly.
  • Contribute to mechanical and electrical drawing packages.
  • Debug, diagnose, and resolve issues with robotic systems.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation for internal and client use.
Requirements
  • Open to College Junior/Senior or recent Bachelors graduate with a major in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics.
  • Understanding of basic Mechanical and Electrical Engineering principles: Programming (Python, Java), data structures and algorithms, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) models, requirements analysis, system design/architecture, version control (Git), testing, and debugging.
  • Solid organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
