Skills

Location: Williston VT – Office Based Role

Reporting to Jeff Hartnett, Engineering Manager

Hourly Rate: $25.00

Job Description:

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Rigorous, you will report to the Engineering Manager. You will assist with active development projects, take on a research project, and contribute fresh ideas and perspectives to the Engineering team. You will attend project meetings, take notes, and participate in team discussions. Over the course of your internship you will provide general support to the team, helping to ensure high quality engineering and smooth operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate as a team member on a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Assist in creating mechanical and electrical models of parts and assemblies using CAD software.
  • Generate accurate drawings (mechanical, pneumatic, electrical) with dimensions, tolerances, and annotations.
  • Review and redline existing drawings for accuracy.
  • Fabricate and assemble mechanical, electrical and system components.
  • Test and operate Rigorous systems, ensuring they meet requirements, while keeping good documentation.
  • Perform personal project management using company tools (Jira).
  • Contribute to the organization and success of internal systems and processes at Rigorous.
  • Perform additional tasks as requested to support team objectives.
Requirements
  • Open to College Junior/Senior or recent Bachelors graduate with a major in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics.
  • Understanding of basic Mechanical and Electrical Engineering principles (Statics, Dynamics, Materials, Circuits, ).
  • Experience using OnShape and other CAD software.
  • Experience with hands on fabrication using machines (drill press, 3D printers) and hand tools.
  • Solid organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
