Job summary

Terranova is seeking a software engineering intern to design and maintain scalable web apps and cloud infrastructure. You will work on frontend interfaces with TypeScript/React/Next.js and backend APIs with Node, FastAPI, or Go, while contributing to distributed services and deployments.

Applicants should be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, and be able to work on-site part-time in the United States. Experience with cloud platforms and CI/CD workflows is a plus.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong experience building web apps with TypeScript and React/Next.js.
• Familiarity with backend APIs and cloud deployment concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement performant, scalable web apps using TypeScript, React/Next.js, and Node/FastAPI/Go.
• Build and operate distributed backends with Postgres and Redis.
• Manage infrastructure-as-code deployments on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Implement CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and incident workflows.
• Collaborate with product and robotics teams to integrate data and telemetry.
• Support both customer-facing and internal tools and full-stack development.
• Adapt to the pace of early-stage startup life while delivering quality code.
• On-site part-time commitment from interns.

What to to Expect

We are seeking a software engineering intern who can design and maintain modern, scalable applications while owning our cloud and infrastructure layer. You’ll build responsive user interfaces, develop backend APIs, and architect deployments that can scale globally. OAuth/OIDC. You’ll thrive if you’ve worked on platform or infra teams (Vercel, Cloudflare, AWS) or as a product engineer at performance-oriented orgs (Stripe, Notion, etc.). What You’ll Do

• Design and implement performant, maintainable web apps using TypeScript, React/Next.js, and Node/FastAPI/Go.


• Build and operate distributed backends with Postgres, Redis, and task queues.


• Manage infrastructure-as-code deployments (Terraform/CDK) on AWS, GCP, or Azure.


• Implement CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and incident-response workflows.


• Collaborate with product and robotics teams to integrate data, telemetry, and control interfaces.

• Comfortable with the pace and intensity of early-stage startup life


• Working towards a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field


• U.S. permanent residency required
