Job summary

Linkyn seeks a Software Engineering Intern to help build production systems for an AI-powered outreach platform. This remote, summer internship offers hands-on ownership across backend automation, APIs, and full-stack product work.

Preference for ET-friendly candidates in NY/NJ or Eastern Time. You will work on RESTful APIs, automation, and data modeling, with exposure to Next.js, TypeScript, Supabase, Postgres, Docker, and Cloudflare.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in a technical field such as CS, engineering, or math.
• Experience building real software projects outside of coursework.
• Proficiency with statically typed languages (TypeScript, Java, Go, C, C++, Rust or similar).
• Comfort building web apps with TypeScript, React, or Next.js.
• Understanding of backend APIs, databases, and system design.
• GIT experience and codebase literacy.
• Strong communication, ownership, and willingness to learn in a startup.

Responsibilities

• Build backend services, APIs, and automation workflows for Linkyn's core product.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs for outreach, signals, personalization, and tooling.
• Improve automation algorithms for identifying relevant people and outreach opportunities.
• Work with Next.js, TypeScript, Supabase, Postgres, Cloudflare, Docker, and Tailwind.
• Contribute to full-stack features including dashboards, forms, and UX improvements.
• Refactor code for reliability, maintainability, and performance.
• Optimize queries, API flows, background tasks, and app performance.
• Collaborate with the founder on product decisions and architecture.
• Write documentation for systems, setup steps, and key decisions.
• Ship production-quality code with care and ownership.

Linkyn is looking for a strong Software Engineering Intern to help build production systems for an AI-powered relationship-aware outreach platform. This is a hands-on, founder-led internship for builders who want real ownership across backend automation, APIs, optimization, and full-stack product work.

Description

Linkyn is an early-stage startup building an AI-powered relationship-aware outreach platform that helps students, founders, and marketers find relevant people, identify warm connection signals, and generate personalized emails, LinkedIn DMs, and follow-ups.We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern who is already a strong builder and wants to work on real production code, not toy projects. This role is backend-leaning, but you should be comfortable moving across the stack when needed. You may work on automation algorithms, microservices, RESTful APIs, product UX improvements, data modeling, performance optimization, refactoring, and internal tooling.This is a full-time Summer 2026 internship. The role is remote within the United States, with a preference for candidates based in New York, New Jersey, or Eastern Time. Exceptional performance may lead to semester employment or a return offer.The first week will include onboarding resources and architecture walkthroughs, but this role is best for someone who already has strong programming fundamentals, experience building real projects, and comfort with statically typed languages. We care less about buzzwords and more about whether you can reason clearly, ship carefully, and improve an existing codebase.

Responsibilities

• Build backend services, APIs, and automation workflows for Linkyn's core product
• Design and implement RESTful APIs for outreach, connection signals, personalization, and internal tooling
• Improve automation algorithms for identifying relevant people and warm outreach opportunities
• Work with Next.js, TypeScript, Supabase, Postgres, Cloudflare, Docker, and Tailwind
• Contribute to full-stack product features when needed, including dashboards, forms, and UX improvements
• Refactor existing code to improve reliability, maintainability, and performance
• Optimize database queries, API flows, background tasks, and application performance
• Collaborate directly with the founder on product decisions, architecture, and implementation tradeoffs
• Write clear documentation for systems, setup steps, and important technical decisions
• Ship production-facing code with care, ownership, and attention to detail

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field
• Strong programming fundamentals and experience building real software projects outside of class
• Experience with at least one statically typed language such as TypeScript, Java, Go, C, C++, Rust, or similar
• Comfort building web applications with TypeScript, React, or Next.js
• Basic understanding of backend APIs, databases, and system design
• Experience working with Git and reading an existing codebase
• Ability to reason through code quality, edge cases, performance, and tradeoffs
• Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions early
• High ownership, strong work ethic, and interest in early-stage startups
• Available full-time during summer of 2026
• Authorized to work in the United States; F-1/CPT/OPT candidates will be considered

Nice-to-haves

• Strong Python experience for automation, scripting, data processing, or AI workflows
• Experience with Supabase, PostgreSQL, or relational database design
• Experience with Docker, Cloudflare, deployment, or basic infrastructure
• Experience with low-level or systems languages such as Go, Rust, C, or C++
• Experience building microservices, background jobs, queues, or API integrations
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows or LLM APIs
• Hackathon projects, startup projects, open-source contributions, or shipped personal products
• Strong GPA combined with meaningful side projects or technical work
• Experience with scraping, lead enrichment, CRM workflows, or outreach automation
• Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar systems and improve them without needing heavy supervision
