Job summary

First Databank, Inc. is seeking Software Engineering Interns for hands-on experience across Web, Mobile, API, SDK, Desktop, and cloud projects in Carmel, IN.

You will work on multiple projects, applying AI-assisted development tools to design, implement, test, and troubleshoot software while learning best practices in a real-world healthcare IT environment. Ideal candidates are pursuing a CS or Software Engineering degree, have completed at least the junior year, and maintain a GPA of 3.4 or

Responsibilities

• Web Development projects across front-end and back-end technologies.
• Mobile Development work on iOS/Android apps.

• Database Development including RDMS and NoSQL.
• Data Science / BI related work.
• Trouble shooting, bug fixes and unit testing.

Software Engineering Interns at First Databank will have the opportunity to gain experience and demonstrate aptitude across a variety of real-world projects. Interns typically rotate between three or more projects during their time at FDB, where each project requires skill in a different area. AI-assisted development is an integral part of FDB's engineering process. Software engineers leverage modern AI coding tools and agents (such as Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, and similar technologies) to design, build, test, and troubleshoot software more effectively. Interns will be expected to actively incorporate AI tools into their development workflow. Prior experience using AI coding assistants or agents in academic, personal, or professional projects is strongly preferred.

This internship will be located in the Carmel, IN office.
