Job summary

Weekday 1 is seeking experienced Software Engineering Experts to help train next-generation AI systems by creating realistic coding environments, reference solutions, and evaluating complex engineering tasks.

You will design reproducible challenges, cover bug fixes, and optimize performance across languages including Python, Java, Rust, Go, C++, and TypeScript. This is a remote, contractor role (~15 hours/week) with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Hands-on software engineering experience across modern languages.

Role Title:Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking experienced Software Engineering Experts to help train next-generation AI systems through high-quality technical contributions. Your software engineering expertise will be used to create realistic coding environments, develop reference solutions, and evaluate complex engineering tasks that improve AI reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.

In this role, you will design reproducible software engineering challenges covering bug fixing, feature development, code refactoring, and performance optimization. No prior AI experience is required—your expertise in software development is what matters.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with at least one of the following programming languages:

• Proven experience debugging complex software systems and resolving production issues.
• Experience implementing scalable software features throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly through written documentation.
• Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with large-scale or distributed software systems.
• Background in software architecture, performance optimization, or system design.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects or maintaining production-grade applications.
• Familiarity with code reviews, engineering best practices, and collaborative software development workflows.
• Interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or AI-assisted software development (prior AI experience is not required).

Compensation

• Performance-based compensation paid per successfully completed task.
• Earnings are based on completed work that meets project quality requirements.
• Minimum weekly task submission requirements apply.
