State Street Corporation is seeking a Database Software Engineering Developer reporting to Vice President. This role focuses on enterprise applications across multiple business units with exposure to cloud-based database platforms.

You will design and develop based on business requirements, coordinating with business analysts, developers and testers, deploying high-performing, secure data solutions in Oracle RDBMS, AWS RDS, PostgreSQL and Redshift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in database development or equivalent.
• Financial services industry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS), PostgreSQL, and Redshift.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop database solutions based on business requirements, coordinating between analysts, developers and test teams.
• Participate in technical design, build, configuration, unit testing, and production deployment.
• Deliver high-quality, scalable code; perform unit tests and validate data integrity.
• Provide expertise for diagnosis and resolution of issues, including workarounds or escalation to service owners.

Who we are looking for We are looking for a Database Software Engineering Developer reporting directly to Vice President. You will support development of enterprise applications across various business units and has good exposure to Cloud based database engineering platforms.

Why this role is important to us The team you will be joining is a part of Markets Risk Technology, a function that is vital to the company as the applications that we build is critical to support Front Office Risk to manage collateralization across multiple product lines in Global Markets.

What you will be responsible for As a Database Software Engineering Developer, you will: Design/develop based on business requirements by effectively coordinating activities between business analysts, developers and testing team. Use advanced technical expertise in analyzing, designing, estimating, and developing software applications to project schedule. Participate in technical design, application build, configuration, unit testing, and production deployment. Demonstrate strong experience in Oracle RDBMS, PL/SQL, AWS RDS, PostgreSQL, Redshift Deploy high performing, quality/bug-free code in production. Execute unit test of data populated in target data container, validating expected result and ensuring quality and accuracy. Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of issues, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners.

What we value These skills will help you succeed in this role Hands on database development experience with strong skills in designing, developing and deploying complex applications based databases. Strong development experience in SQL,PL/SQL programming and creating database objects, View, Materialized View, Stored Procedures, Triggers, etc. Hands on expertise in Data Modeling and DB design with strong skills in performance tuning. Hands on experience in setting up data pipelines for ETL jobs across multiple data sources. Hands on experience in troubleshooting and resolving database performance issues. Hands on working knowledge and experience around Oracle RDBMS, standard AWS services, has EC2, S3, RDS, PostgreSQL, Redshift. Hands on experience in building systems using modern, scalable, resilient, cloud native architectures. Optimizing database performance, scalability, ensuring data security and compliance; Able to predict database storage and growth. Experience with event based, micro-batch and batched high volume and high velocity transaction and data processing system.

Education & Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree required Minimum 10 years of experience in relevant Database development role Industry experience preferably in Financial Services Hands on working knowledge and experience around Oracle RDBMS, standard AWS services, has EC2, S3, RDS, PostgreSQL, Redshift, GitHub or any code repository, Cloud Controller or any Release management Tool SQL,PL/SQL programming and creating database objects, View, Materialized View, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Additional requirements Knowledge of Cloud Security in AWS, specifically IAM Roles & Polices, Security Groups and Encryption keys. Keeping up to date on the latest cloud database technologies

Work Requirement Hybrid work requirement: Weekly 4 days in Boston, MA office and 1 day remote Shift timings: Monday - Friday , 9AM - 5PM EST

Salary Range: $90,000 - $157,500 Annual The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
