Job summary

GE Vernova's Critical Infrastructure Communication (CIC) Engineering team is seeking an intern who will learn our product portfolio and contribute to a next generation software product line.

You will design, develop and test software using Java, C or C++, and gain experience with Python, Linux, and DevOps tooling while working with an agile, collaborative team.

This paid internship runs Jan–Aug 2027 in Rochester, NY, with a day shift and a 40-hour week, and offers relocation/housing support.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT.
• Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
• Experience in Linux and Windows administration.
• Experience in software development and revision control (Git/GitHub).
• Familiarity with Python scripting and Linux/bash.

Responsibilities

• Learn GE Vernova CIC product portfolio and become a developer on a product line.
• Participate in an active development team for a next generation product line.
• Assist with designing/developing sub-systems and features in software development.
• Follow software design principles and development processes.
