Job summary

The Ed Wallach Search Group is seeking a Software Engineer – Full Stack in San Diego to join a collaborative team building a cloud-based software planning system for a critical government mission.

You will work across backend services, APIs, and frontend applications, contributing to architecture decisions and ensuring maintainable, scalable code in a distributed environment with government stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field
• 3+ years of professional software engineering or software development experience
• U.S. Citizenship with ACTIVE TS/SCI Clearance
• Strong experience with Java, TypeScript, and object-oriented programming
• Experience designing and implementing APIs and integrating software systems
• Familiarity with full-stack web application development
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and development best practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical designs and concepts
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-organization engineering environment

Responsibilities

Software Engineer – Full Stack

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer with a strong Computer Science foundation to join a highly collaborative team developing a complex, cloud-based software planning system supporting a critical government mission.

This is an opportunity to work on sophisticated software spanning backend infrastructure, APIs, frontend web applications, system integration, testing, and quality assurance.

You’ll have meaningful ownership in designing and building maintainable, extensible software while working alongside experienced engineers, government stakeholders, and external development partners.

The ideal candidate is a strong software engineer who cares about clean architecture, well-designed code, system integration, and delivering reliable software in a collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do
