Position Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled Software Engineer with data management experience to join the innovative Data Village team. This role involves working on-site in Nashville as part of a dynamic team focused on delivering cutting-edge data solutions. The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of experience in data engineering, with expertise in deploying data-driven applications using Java, Kubernetes, Apache Flink, and monitoring solutions such as JMeter and Prometheus.

Key Responsibilities

1. Software and Data Engineering: Utilize expertise in Java and Kubernetes to build and maintain robust data solutions. Develop and manage data pipelines to source and transform data based on business requirements, with experience in DevOps and monitoring solutions.
2. Innovation and Learning: Quickly learn new technologies by applying current skills, stay ahead of industry trends, and adopt new technologies within a month.
3. Team Collaboration: Collaborate within a team of 4+ data engineers, working towards common objectives in a consultative manner with clients.
4. Data Movement and Transformation: Use Apache NiFi and Apache Flink for data movement, streaming, and transformation services, ensuring efficient and reliable data workflows.

Requirements

1. 3-7 years of experience in data and cloud application engineering.
2. Proficiency in deploying cloud applications supporting data ingestion and curation using Java and Kubernetes (AWS EKS).
3. Strong knowledge of data warehousing.
4. Advanced Java programming skills.
5. Experience in building and managing data pipelines with NiFi and DBT.
6. Proficiency in Kubernetes for container orchestration.
7. Strong knowledge of AWS services.
8. Expertise in using Prometheus for monitoring.
9. Proficiency with GitHub for version control.
10. Experience with Jenkins for CI/CD.
11. Strong knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure as code.
12. Experience with Kafka for streaming data.
13. Nice to have: experience in financial data analysis, risk, and compliance data management.
14. Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt efficiently.
