Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a software engineer to join the Companion Device Services team, focusing on the Apple Watch platform. You will work across the organization with software teams to build robust system frameworks and improve pairing/communication technologies.

You will collaborate with design and QA to shape user-facing goals for setup and pairing, delivering a seamless initial experience for new Apple Watch users.

Description

As part of the Companion Device Services team, you will be foundational to the Apple Watch platform, working closely with Apple Watch software teams across the organization by building system frameworks. You will collaborate with the networking team and other cross‑functional partners to develop and improve the pairing and communication technologies, working with design and QA partners to help define the user‑facing goals of those technologies. You will play a core role in innovating and improving setup and pairing, giving new Apple Watch users their first experience on the platform.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS CE/CS or equivalent experience required
• Proficient in Objective‑C and Swift
• Experience building high‑traffic system frameworks and related infrastructure
• You have experience optimizing applications and profiling throughout the stack
• Systems knowledge, hands‑on experience with inter‑process communication
• You are upbeat, adaptable, and results oriented with a positive attitude
• Fantastic attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience improving and expanding on existing complex projects and systems
• You have defined and driven large‑scale projects across different levels of the stack

Compensation and Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,400 and $277,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
