Job summary

Cadre5 is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer with strong Vue experience to join our Oak Ridge team. Software Engineer- Vue

Founded in 1999 in the beautiful Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, Cadre5 provides innovative technical solutions to our customers locally and nationally. Our Cadre5 Lab Partners division has partnered with Environmental Sciences Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) to recruit a qualified Full Stack Software Engineer to support multiple concurrent software projects within a Department of Energy (DOE) Research & Development environment. Candidates must have strong experience with Vue. Candidates without Vue experience will not be considered.

The Group:

The Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) user facility, a DOE Office of Science user facility, is 'the world's premiere ground-based observations facility advancing atmospheric and climate research.' As one of the nine DOE laboratories that manage and operate ARM, ORNL is responsible for the management and operation of ARM data services, a collaborative effort across several ORNL divisions.

The Role:

This role requires an on-site presence and close collaboration with technical teams, stakeholders, and government clients. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across the entire development lifecycle from gathering client requirements and translating concepts into technical designs, through development, testing, deployment, and long-term support. Candidates must be adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a structured, security-focused environment.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3+ years of professional full-stack development experience

• Strong communication skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Ability to obtain and maintain any required facility clearances or background checks.
• Work Environment On-site presence is required due to the secure nature of the facility.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with automated testing frameworks
