The Software Engineer VI will work with technical teams to create software solutions that leverage prevailing technologies and improve the customer experience while adhering to business and technical requirements. Develop, modify, enhance, and implement software systems designed to support business initiatives.

WHAT OUR SOFTWARE ENGINEER VI ENJOYS MOST

• Support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Participate in designing dependent systems, e.g., APIs, data stores, CI/CD pipelines.
• Design and implement new functionality that is testable and performant independently.
• Determine methods for new assignments and coordinate activities of other personnel.
• Align with the technical organization’s vision and contribute to the roadmap.
• Analyze market products, identifying pros and cons.
• Keep up to date with technical and industry standards.
• Develop software independently to overcome roadblocks and assess impacts on the roadmap.
• Triage defects and lead root cause analyses.
• Resolve system integration issues.
• Lead critical production issue triage and manage hotfixes.
• Prioritize work effectively, meet timelines, and manage multiple tasks.
• Close technical debts and visualize technology roadmaps.
• Provide Level of Effort (LOE) estimates for projects or features.
• Document technical requirements and designs.
• Manage release branches and deployment artifacts.
• Enforce code standards and best practices.
• Identify performance improvements and enhance application scalability, resilience, and availability.
• Collaborate across teams to resolve technical issues.
• Present projects to senior leadership and the business.
• Mentor junior developers and participate in hiring processes.
• Build effective relationships within and outside the team.
• Serve as a technical SME and provide consulting.

WHAT YOU BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

• Experience with database management systems (4-6+ years)
• Experience coding, testing, and designing software (4-6+ years)
• Experience with software development methodologies (4-6+ years)

• BA/BS in IT, CS, or related field or equivalent experience

• Technical skills in programming languages, environments, containers, cloud-native development, APIs, data stores, design patterns, and architecture

• Skills in programming, object-oriented patterns, containerization, microservices, SOA, and related areas

• Abilities in problem-solving, communication, documentation, and working independently

• Travel: Office environment

• Full-time schedule

Preferred Skills

• Telecom expertise, Salesforce development, and cloud integration experience are preferred.
