The Software Engineer VI will work with technical teams to create software solutions that use prevailing technologies and improve the customers' experience while adhering to business and technical requirements. Develop, modify, enhance, and implement software systems designed to support business initiatives.
WHAT OUR SOFTWARE ENGINEER VI ENJOY MOST
- Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Participate in the design of dependent systems, e.g., APIs, clients, data stores, CI/CD Pipelines.
- Design and implement new functionality that is testable and performant with no oversight or guidance.
- Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel.
- Understand the organization's vision and goals and apply this understanding to assist in creating the roadmap.
- Analyze and evaluate different products in the market, identifying their pros and cons.
- Maintain knowledge of industry standards and emerging technologies.
- Develop software independently to overcome roadblocks and proactively identify potential issues.
- Lead RCA activities and triage escaped defects.
- Resolve system integration issues and manage critical production hotfixes.
- Prioritize work effectively, establish timelines, and deliver multiple tasks concurrently.
- Close technical debts and visualize technology roadmaps.
- Provide LOE for interconnected projects or Epics.
- Document technical requirements and overall design.
- Handle deployment artifacts and enforce coding best practices.
- Identify performance improvements and enhance application scalability, resilience, and high availability.
- Collaborate across teams to solve technical problems.
- Present projects to senior leadership and the business.
- Mentor junior developers and participate in hiring processes.
- Build effective relationships within and outside the team.
- Serve as a technical SME and provide consulting.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
- Experience in database management systems, coding, testing, and software development methodologies (4-6+ years).
- BA/BS in IT, CS, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Technical skills including knowledge of major programming languages, APIs, containerization, and system design patterns.
- Proficiency in one major programming language and experience with cloud-native applications, microservices, and architecture patterns.
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce development tools like Apex, Lightning, Visualforce, and APIs.
- Project management experience and a focus on code quality and standards.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage technical risks.
