Job summary

The Voleon Group in New York is seeking a Software Engineer to design and implement scalable, high-performance software for trading and research platforms. You will work closely with traders, quantitative researchers, and engineers to build robust systems that drive trading strategies in a dynamic market.

The role requires expertise in Python, Java, Go, R, or C/C++, Linux performance, and modern deployment tools such as Kubernetes and Bazel. A CS degree and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• Experience developing in a Linux environment with focus on performance, concurrency, and correctness.
• Backend engineering with databases and large-scale data processing.
• Ability to design, develop, and deploy a back-end application from design specs.
• Strong communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with modern deployment/build tooling (Kubernetes, Bazel) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and collaborate on software for trading infrastructure, data processing, and model development pipelines.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust software supporting trading strategies and research initiatives.
• Translate requirements into software design and drive projects from start to finish.
• Collaborate with Senior Software Engineers and receive mentorship and coaching.
