Job summary

Alkira in the Bay Area is seeking a Software Engineer - UI Developer to join the frontend team building the UI for Alkira’s CSX platform. You will craft web and mobile interfaces using React/Redux, ensuring scalable UI components and accessible design.

The role is hybrid with onsite collaboration at the San Jose, CA office. Visa sponsorship is not available; salary ranges from $100,000 to $130,000 USD with benefits. You will contribute to fast-paced, enterprise-grade cloud networking software.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in EE or CS; strong Javascript debugging skills.
• Strong CS fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, OS).
• 1–2+ years of professional React/Redux or modern framework experience.
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS3, and JavaScript; strong understanding of ES6 concepts.
• Experience with CSS and Less/Sass in large-scale apps.
• Nice to have Node.js API development.
• Experience in at least one UI testing framework like Jest/Mocha/Cypress.
• Familiarity with web build tools and CI/CD pipelines.

The Role

Our Frontend Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer - UI Developer to join our growing team in the Bay Area. The candidate will develop software for Alkira’s CSX (Cloud Services Exchange). The work will involve design, development & debugging of the web as well as mobile user interface responsible for the networking functions that drive Alkira’s CSX.

Location and Sponsorship

We’re looking for a candidate who is currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area and already authorized to work in the U.S. Unfortunately, we’re not able to offer visa sponsorship for this role at this time, as well as relocation bonus. This position is a hybrid role and requires onsite collaboration with the team at San Jose, CA office.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative software solutions for our enterprise-focused cloud application.


• Design, develop, and deliver highly scalable and reliable web applications and component libraries.


• Build in flexibility and customization from the start. Be agile and react quickly to dynamic product requirements.


• Internalize the user and promote good usability and accessibility in every user experience.


• Understanding of relational databases like Postgres. Familiarity with REST apis and experience with git, continuous integration and deployment tools.


• Add and improve our test coverage in our end-to-end automation, integration, and unit test suites.


• Manage your own time, and work well both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

• Requires B.S./M.S. or equivalent in EE or CS. Excellent Javascript programming and debugging skills.


• Good grasp on computer science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, operating system).


• 1-2+ years of professional React/Redux or modern framework experience.


• Proficiency with HTML, CSS3, and JavaScript. Strong understanding of javascript including concepts such as asynchronous programming, closures, types, and ES6.


• Experience with CSS and Less/Sass and usage in large scale applications.


• Nice to have some experience in node.js api development.


• Experience in at least one UI testing framework like Jest/Mocha or cypress is a must.


• Familiarity with web build tools and CI/CD pipelines


• Team-player: The candidate should be able to work in teams of various sizes that may be geographically distributed

COMPENSATION AND INTERVIEW PROCESS

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000 USD plus benefits. Your actual base salary and level will be determined on a case by case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education and location. Our selection process includes a take-home assignment and technical interviews designed to evaluate your core computer science fundamentals.
