Description

Leidos is looking for a Software Engineer to join a high performing agile team using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology to support a nationally significant and fast-paced cryptographic key management program. The program employs DEVOPS best practices, robust development, test, and production environments, Behavior Driven Development (BDD), and test automation tools. The team provides system engineering, development, test, integration, and operational support, with a focus on injecting new technology and adding capabilities over three years while supporting ongoing missions.

Job Summary

The Software Engineer will perform software development activities within an agile team, transforming stories into concepts, development, testing, and deployment. Responsibilities include implementing robust testing with automation tools, developing server-side logic, web applications, and UIs using Java, Python, embedded C/C++, and cryptographic frameworks.

Primary Responsibilities

• Participate in program planning and team activities.
• Analyze complex requirements, design with software tools, and ensure code is modifiable, efficient, reliable, and reusable.
• Manage software processes and promote code reuse and collaboration.
• Develop, tune, and document automation scripts for deployment.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience or master's with 2-6 years.
• Experience with Java and familiarity with Java/JEE, Python, C/C++, SQL, SOAP, WSDL, WADL, PERL, PowerShell, VBS, Eclipse, Postgres, Oracle, Jenkins on Windows.
• Experience with UI development, databases, XHTML, HTML, XML, XSLT.
• Experience on Windows and Linux OS.
• Strong understanding of sound software development principles.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.

Security Clearance Requirement

• Must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with JEE, application servers, scripting, requirements management, secure systems engineering, Agile practices, test automation tools like Selenium, Cucumber, and experience with SAFe methodology.
