Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer to join a high-performing agile team using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology to support a critical cryptographic key management program. The program employs DEVOPS best practices, robust environments for development, testing, and production, and utilizes Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and test automation tools. Leidos provides system engineering, development, testing, integration, and operational support, focusing on technological innovation and capability enhancement over three years while maintaining ongoing operations. A $25k SIGN ON BONUS is offered.

Job Summary

The Software Engineer will engage in software development within an agile team, transforming stories into implementable solutions, and deploying new system capabilities. Responsibilities include implementing robust testing with automation, developing server-side logic, and UI components using Java, Python, embedded C/C++, and other technologies.

Primary Responsibilities

• Participate actively in program increment planning and team activities.
• Analyze requirements, utilize design tools, and apply software engineering principles to produce modifiable, reliable, and efficient code.
• Manage software processes, promote code reuse, and collaborate across programs.
• Develop, tune, and document automation scripts for deployment and testing.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience or master's with 2-6 years.
• Proven experience with Java.
• Familiarity with Java/JEE, Python, C/C++, SQL, SOAP, WSDL, WADL, PERL, PowerShell, VBS, Eclipse, Postgres, Oracle, Jenkins on Windows.
• Experience with UI development, databases, XHTML, HTML, XML, XSLT.
• Development experience on Windows and Linux OS.
• Strong understanding of software development principles.
• Effective communication and independent thinking skills.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with application servers (Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss), scripting, requirements management, secure systems engineering, and Agile practices such as TDD, Refactoring, and ATDD.
• Familiarity with tools like FITNesse, Mockito, Cucumber, UFT, Selenium, and experience with BDD.
• Knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and related certifications or experience.
