Overview

This job requires an active Top Secret / SCI clearance (with CI Polygraph eligibility). Please apply only if you currently hold an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. North Point Technology is looking for TS/SCI-cleared Software Engineer to support the Chinook Program, a critical GEOINT modernization mission for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead design, development, and deployment of secure, enterprise-grade software in classified cloud environments (AWS C2S / GovCloud).
  • Build and maintain containerized microservices and APIs that power GEOINT data and mission workflows.
  • Develop front-end components using React, Angular, or similar modern frameworks.
  • Implement DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube, Terraform, and Vault.
  • Collaborate with customer Product Owners, architects, and agile teams to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions.
  • Support continuous integration and test automation within Agile / Scrum methodologies.
  • Ensure software compliance with IC cybersecurity, data governance, and GEOINT open standards (OGC, NSG).
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical design documentation and roadmaps.
Basic Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (CI Polygraph preferred).
  • U.S. citizenship required per contract.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and 12–15 years of experience (or Master’s with 10–13 years).
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, or Go
    • Frameworks: Spring Boot, Django, Node.js, Flask
    • Cloud Platforms: AWS (C2S / GovCloud), Azure, or equivalent
    • Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes
    • DevSecOps Tools: GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus, Terraform, Vault
    • Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server
    • Web Technologies: HTML, CSS, JSON, REST APIs
  • Strong understanding of software design principles, modular architecture, and modern security practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile development tools (JIRA, Confluence) and sprint-based delivery.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Front-end development experience using React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Knowledge of GEOINT data standards (OGC WMS/WFS, NSG).
  • Experience with Elasticsearch / OpenSearch.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Developer, Solutions Architect, CISSP, or SAFe Agile.
  • Previous NGA or Intelligence Community mission experience.
