Server Platform is at the core of Figma's infrastructure! This area owns the foundational layer that underpins all other infrastructure and application services at Figma. The Foundation team enables efficient operation and rapid development of reliable infrastructure through opinionated platforms.

We are building Infrastructure V2 and setting key initiatives for the next half decade. We're seeking thoughtful, technical leaders with experience in designing next-generation edge and network systems to handle growing customer traffic and services.

This is a full-time role, available from our US hubs or remotely within the United States.

What you'll do at Figma:

1. Design, build, and operate scalable distributed systems and services that power Figma's design and collaboration tools
2. Develop and secure our internal and edge networks on AWS
3. Design and deploy an internal service mesh to support our expanding services and features
4. Develop detection and auto-scaling solutions for DDoS threats
5. Debug production issues across services and stack levels

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

• 4+ years of experience building scalable infrastructure components/services in a cloud environment
• Experience with TypeScript or Go
• Experience scaling distributed and traffic systems as an individual contributor or team lead
• Proven track record of building and shipping high-quality products in high-growth settings
• Strong communication skills across functions for solution-driven collaboration
• Experience working with network and traffic systems handling requests from millions of users

Bonus points if you also have:

• Deep knowledge of DDoS attack mechanisms and mitigation, especially on AWS or cloud platforms
• Extensive experience securing network infrastructure
• Traffic analytics experience using VPC Flow Logs, Lambda, etc.
• Knowledge of TCP, HTTP, DNS, SSL protocols
• Experience with proxies like Envoy and Haproxy
• Experience with service mesh technologies like Istio

Pay Transparency Disclosure

If based in Figma's San Francisco or New York hub, the annual base salary range is $149,000—$350,000 USD. Compensation depends on qualifications, skills, impact potential, location, and market factors. For remote roles, the pay range is localized to your work location, typically between 80-100% of the listed range. Please discuss your location with your recruiter.
