**Summary:**

Meta is seeking Machine Learning Engineers to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have industry experience working on a range of classification and optimization problems such as payment fraud, click-through rate prediction, click-fraud detection, search ranking, text/sentiment classification, collaborative filtering/recommendation, or spam detection. The position involves applying these skills to some of the most exciting and large-scale social data and prediction challenges on the web.

**Responsibilities:**

1. Drive the team's goals and technical direction to pursue opportunities that improve organizational efficiency.
2. Effectively communicate complex features and systems.
3. Stay informed about industry and company-wide trends to assess and develop new technologies.
4. Collaborate with organizational leaders to enhance team and organizational performance.
5. Identify new opportunities and influence staffing and prioritization decisions.
6. Gather and synthesize requirements to create effective feature roadmaps.
7. Develop scalable classifiers and tools using machine learning, data regression, and rules-based models.
8. Adapt standard machine learning methods to leverage modern parallel computing environments (e.g., distributed clusters, multicore SMP, GPU).

**Minimum Qualifications:**

1. Experience leading projects with industry-wide impact.
2. Proven ability to communicate and collaborate across functions.
3. Experience mentoring and influencing engineers across organizations.
4. Track record of planning multi-year roadmaps aligning short-term projects with long-term vision.
5. Experience driving large, cross-functional engineering efforts.
6. 12+ years of programming experience in Python, C++, Java, or R.
7. 8+ years in areas such as machine learning, recommendation systems, pattern recognition, NLP, data mining, or AI.
8. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

1. Experience shipping products to millions or launching new product lines.
2. Experience with Hadoop, Pig, MapReduce, Sawzall, Bigtable, Hive, Spark.
3. Expertise in areas like machine learning, recommendation systems, NLP, data mining, or AI.

**Compensation:**

$213,000 to $293,000 annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
