Job description

We’re seeking a Technical Lead to own the architecture, design, and delivery of our Node.js Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) platform. You’ll lead by example—writing scalable code, mentoring teammates, and guiding technical decisions that impact both web and mobile clients. You’ll play a key role in how we run A/B tests, analyze results, and drive product decisions based on data, helping the team iterate quickly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and testable BFF APIs using Node.js
• Lead integration with backend services and ensure APIs serve cross-platform clients
• Collaborate with product managers and analysts to design and implement A/B tests that validate hypotheses
• Translate test results into engineering actions that improve product performance and outcomes
• Champion observability, error handling, performance monitoring, and operational excellence
• Conduct design reviews, mentor engineers, and ensure adherence to technical standards
• Support sprint planning and roadmap alignment by providing architectural direction and effort estimation
• Improve developer experience across the team through better tooling, patterns, and documentation

Qualifications

·6+ years of backend engineering experience, including 2+ years in a technical lead role

·Deep experience with Node.js and modern web API frameworks

·Strong understanding of REST, GraphQL, and service integration patterns

·Hands-on experience running A/B tests and interpreting statistical results

·Ability to make data-informed technical decisions, balancing performance, user impact, and complexity

·Familiarity with feature flag platforms

·Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners (Product Manager, Design, Analytics)

·Solid understanding of authentication, security, and rate-limiting best practices

·Proficient with observability tooling

Preferred Qualifications

·Prior experience with frontend optimization or growth experimentation

·Familiarity with experimentation best practices

·Knowledge of cloud infrastructure

·Background in mobile-BFF patterns or GraphQL federation
