Job summary

Bitwise is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy AI-enabled software for national security applications. You will work with data scientists, software engineers, systems engineers, and sysadmins to integrate cutting-edge AI/ML technologies into production systems.

You will containerize services using Kubernetes and Docker, build new software, and support existing solutions in a fast-paced environment. A TS//SCI clearance with polygraph is required for this role.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience or a technical degree plus 4+ years in the field.
• Production-grade software in Python and JVM languages.
• Containerization with Kubernetes and Docker; CI/CD practices.
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks and LLMs is required.

We're looking for a Software Engineer to join an up-and-coming project where you'll design, develop, and integrate solutions for the greater developer community. You'll work closely with data scientists, software engineers, systems engineers, and systems administrators to integrate cutting-edge AI/ML technologies into production systems.

In this role, you will:

• Build upon your Kubernetes and Docker experience to containerize and deploy services
• Develop new software solutions and support existing ones in a fast-paced environment
• Leverage DevOps and CI/CD practices to ensure reliable, automated deployments
• Apply AI and machine learning expertise to solve complex technical challenges
• Elicit requirements from stakeholders and determine the applicability of AI/ML solutions to real-world problems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, production-grade software
• Maintain rigorous testing standards and comprehensive test coverage for all internally developed software

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer, or a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline plus 4+ additional years of relevant experience
• Production-grade software development experience in Python and JVM languages
• Service containerization and automated/manual deployment using CI/CD with Kubernetes and Docker
• Experience leveraging AI technologies, including LLMs and the latest AI frameworks
• Proficiency with Git for version control
• Demonstrated ability to maintain high-quality test suites and strong test coverage for internally developed software
• Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) for documentation
• Familiarity with cybersecurity-related data analysis (network traffic, OS events)
• Knowledge of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems
• Experience with production CNO capabilities and operations
• Experience working with distributed development teams
• Proficiency in additional programming languages, particularly Kotlin
• Experience with popular test libraries for the JVM and Python (JUnit, AssertJ, unittest, pytest)
• Full-stack development experience, with a current focus on backend systems
• Experience working in formalized software development processes (Scrum, Kanban, or Sprint-based methodologies)

Salary Range

$230,000 – $271,000

This range includes our flex income and depends upon your annual work hours.

Salary is determined on an individual basis following the interview process and considering various factors such as years of experience, skills, education, and certifications.
