Job summary

Chewy is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Supply Chain Simulation team. You will design and deploy data and simulation systems to support Fulfillment Operations, collaborating with data scientists and engineers to address critical problems and deliver high-value functionality.

The role emphasizes building data, optimization, and simulation solutions, deploying robust engineering pipelines for model deployment and testing in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (Computer Science or similar) or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of professional software development building distributed, high-performance systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Excellent problem-solving and independent work capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to translate business requirements into code.
• Experience with unit testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement optimized systems handling large data volumes.
• Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and domain experts to meet requirements.
• Identify and fix data quality issues and root causes.
• Write clean, maintainable code with test-driven development and peer reviews.
• Debug production issues across services and tech stacks.
• Advocate for version control, code reviews, unit tests, and CI/CD pipelines.
