Software Engineers work across the technology stack (both front-end and back-end), managing projects involving databases, backend services, or front-end applications. They demonstrate a strong understanding of emerging technologies to support innovative solutions and ensure optimal performance of the full technology stack.

The eCommerce Website Development Software Engineer is responsible for designing products, defining technical blueprints, and supporting the implementation of Master Data Management (MDM) and Product Information Management (PIM) systems like STEP PIM. They collaborate with Product Managers, Solution Architects, and development teams to deliver new features, define non-functional requirements (performance, resilience), and ensure scalability and reliability within complex ecosystems.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Design systems architecture for MDM and PIM systems, promoting availability, reusability, interoperability, and security.
  2. Demonstrate ownership and deep technical knowledge of MDM and PIM systems like STEP PIM.
  3. Support release planning and define testing strategies.
  4. Identify requirements and support architectural planning and development activities.
  5. Define non-functional requirements to ensure scalability, performance, and security.
  6. Identify dependencies across teams to support new or enhanced functionalities.
  7. Develop, optimize, and automate development activities.
  8. Implement front-end architecture to support UI concepts.
  9. Enhance understanding of databases, distributed architectures, security, and business value creation.
  10. Drive engineering best practices for quality and scalability.
  11. Provide development strategies, solution recommendations, and effort estimates.
  12. Participate in Agile ceremonies and develop unit tests using TDD practices.
  13. Plan, manage, and report on development tasks.
  14. Design, debug, and optimize solutions using approved tools and databases.
  15. Support CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps automation.
  16. Use monitoring tools to analyze performance bottlenecks and improve solutions.
  17. Develop standards, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to documentation.
  18. Collaborate with team members to define project specifications and release documentation.
  19. Conduct peer code reviews and define environment strategies.
  20. Establish coding standards, support testing, and define remediation tactics for defects.
  21. Mentor teams in software design, automation, and architecture.
  22. Provide active support during critical outage situations.
Minimum Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience with large-scale enterprise applications, especially B2C and B2B eCommerce.
  • Deep technical knowledge of MDM and PIM systems like STEP PIM.
  • Experience scaling applications and infrastructure planning.
  • Experience with cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud.
  • Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Development experience with Java, .NET, and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of Java EE, Spring, C#, GraphQL, Entity Framework, and asynchronous communication patterns.
  • Understanding of API management, data modeling, integration patterns, and EDI solutions.
  • Proven ability to work independently and mentor junior staff.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with Google Cloud solutions, STIBO, MDM, PIM.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace applications.
