Lockheed Martin, a leader in advancing secure communications and cutting-edge defense technology, is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission‑critical projects that protect and serve our nation’s defense.

In this position, you will play a key role in software development as part of an Agile Development Team working on satellite communications (SATCOM) systems. You will focus on developing and automating test solutions to ensure robust, secure, and resilient software products that meet high-performance and security standards.

As a Software Engineer You Will
  • Design, develop, and test software solutions that meet customer requirements, particularly for secure military communications.
  • Develop and execute automated test cases using tools like Playwright Selenium/Cypress using TypeScript and/or Java
  • Implement high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code, ensuring comprehensive test coverage across web applications and APIs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to requirements creation, test case development, and automated testing efforts.
  • As part of an Agile Development Team, you will actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure continuous delivery of high-quality software solutions. Your contributions will help maintain the secure and uninterrupted communication capabilities of critical military systems.
  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and a government security clearance, as the facility requires special access.
  • Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.
Basic Qualifications
  • Professional experience in software engineering with a focus on automated testing using tools like Playwright/Selenium/Cypress.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Final secret clearance.
Desired Skills
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps processes, CI/CD tools (Gitlab, Github), and frameworks (Docker and Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with modern backend and web frameworks like .Net Core/Spring Boot or Angular/React.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies such as Scrum.
  • Familiarity with military SATCOM systems and secure communication protocols.
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC), particularly in secure, high-performance applications.
Pay Information
  • Full-Time Salary Range: $135700.00 - $251900.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full-time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
