Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a software professional to design, develop, and verify microservice-based software for space systems at our King of Prussia, PA site. You will work within agile teams to implement open-architecture, cloud-enabled solutions and ensure software standards are met.

The role requires hands-on development with Java/C++, JavaScript, C#, Python and container technologies such as Docker/Kubernetes. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience designing and documenting microservice-based architectures
• Strong Presentation Skills
• Deep understanding of open architecture, cloud computing design, and security principles
• Experienced in software development using programming and scripting languages such as Java, C++, JavaScript, C#, Python, etc.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment, including tools such as Jira and Confluence

Desired Skills

• Demonstrated ability to lead teams across organizational boundaries and geographical locations to collaborate with and influence others
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Strong knowledge of modern technology frameworks, IP networks, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, APIs, DevOps, and data architecture
• Experience in application containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, etc.) in a cloud environment (AWS/Azure/Openstack/Openshift)
• Experience with enterprise software products including Horizon, HADES and SpaceMesh Orchestrator
• Experience with Experienced in space data networking
• SAFe Agile Product Owner or Product Manager Certified
• Ability to work directly with Government customers and FFRDC stakeholders
• Support occasional business travel (up to 25%)

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $135700.00 - $251900.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
