Job summary

The Boeing Company in Oklahoma City seeks a Software Engineer – Secure Network & Protocols for a 12‑month contract. You will support BCA/BGS software teams, focusing on the E7 Training System platforms and integration into lab facilities.

You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to design secure software solutions, perform testing, and ensure regulatory compliance in an Agile environment. Onsite work is required with travel possible.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in object‑oriented programming.
  • 8+ years of experience programming in C/C++.

Responsibilities

  • Work on all aspects of the software development lifecycle within an Agile/CI–CD model.
  • Develop and document software architectures, requirements, interfaces, and design.
  • Write, test, and integrate software components into complete systems.

Contract Position

This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full‑time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.

Job Summary

At The Boeing Company, the Software Engineer – Secure Network & Protocols will support the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) and Boeing Global Services (BGS) Software Engineering organization. The role is based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and focuses on the E7 Training System platforms, integrating software E7IAB (E‑7 in a box) program and ensuring seamless transition of upgrades and integration into lab facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Work on all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and automated testing within an Agile and CI/CD model.
  • Support the development of high‑quality software design, implementation, and architecture.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic, customer‑focused team to deliver world‑class solutions in a collaborative and inclusive environment.
  • Develop, document, and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and design for software systems as part of an agile scrum team.
  • Write and maintain code; integrate software components into fully functional systems.
  • Create software verification plans, test procedures, and environments; execute test procedures and document results to ensure requirements are met; create, update, and maintain software tests.
  • Execute and document software research and development projects.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for software domains, system‑specific issues, processes, and regulations.
  • Work closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development.
  • Build software solutions that consider the customer first, even when the solution is not always well‑defined.
  • Decompose system‑level features into executable backlog items.
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance post‑start. To be considered for this position, a technical assessment must be completed as part of the selection process.

Basic Qualifications (Required)
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience in object‑oriented programming.
  • 8+ years of experience programming in C/C++.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
  • 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Visual Studio IDE and Git (version control).
  • Experience in aerodynamics, guidance and control (G&C), sensor modeling, DIS/HLA, electronic warfare, and/or communications systems.
  • Experience integrating fighter platform and adversary systems onto the network.
  • Familiarity with project‑management tools such as JIRA or VersionOne.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and experience with SAFe or other Agile frameworks.
  • Familiarity with multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.).
  • Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
  • Solid understanding of software development process fundamentals.
Job Details
  • Contract position: 12 months, start ASAP.
  • Location: Oklahoma City, OK (onsite).
  • Work schedule: Full time, 1st shift (7–5). 9x80 work schedule applicable.
  • Remote: no. Onsite only.
  • Travel: Domestic 10%, international possible (UK, Australia), may include military bases.
  • Wage: $85–$90 USD hourly.
