Job summary

Plus 2 in Santa Clara is seeking an ML/CPP-focused engineer to design scalable workflows for AV scenario simulations. You will own the simulation framework and collaborate with internal teams on test creation and validation workflows.

The role requires 2+ years of industry ML and C++ experience, strong skills in modern C++ and Python, and familiarity with AV simulation environments and driving datasets. This position is on-site in Santa Clara.

Qualifications

  • MS or higher degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field.
  • 2+ years of industry ML and C++ software experience.
  • Good development skills in modern C++ and Python.
  • Proficiency in ML libraries and experience with transformer and diffusion architectures.
  • Basic understanding of generative models.
  • Familiarity with AV simulation environments and driving datasets.

Responsibilities

  • Design scalable ML workflows for generating AV scenarios.
  • Contribute to tooling for migrating scenario creation to AI-based understanding and validation.
  • Own the development and upkeep of the simulation framework, ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with internal customers to support test creation workflows.
  • Tackle simulation and autonomy evaluation challenges across motion planning, mapping, and Controls.
  • Create and extend software for behavior, pathfinding, road networks, spatial queries, collision detection, and vehicle dynamics.

Job description

About the role:

The Scenario Simulation team is responsible for building a simulation engine that simulates the systems downstream of the perception system. The team works on realistic actor behaviors and other infrastructure tooling for generating diverse scenarios to validate Autonomy. You will have an opportunity to drive immediate user value while architecting advanced, AI-powered frameworks for long-term safety validation.

Responsibilities:
  • Design scalable ML workflows for generating AV scenarios - ranging from traffic simulations to synthetic scenario creation from a natural language specification.
  • Contribute to tooling for migrating scenario creation using the traditional approach to AI-based scenario understanding and validation.
  • Own the development and upkeep of the simulation framework, driving its reliability and performance to unblock all technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate directly with internal customers and partner teams to provide solutions for their test creation workflows.
  • Have an opportunity to tackle simulation and autonomy evaluation challenges across various areas of the autonomy system, including motion planning, mapping, Controls.
