About the Role

Our Security Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to design, develop, and operate security services for DoorDash’s cloud infrastructure. You will be a part of our inclusive, collaborative team responsible for building a safe and reliable delivery network.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
  • Build core security services, such as remote access management, secrets management, access control at DoorDash scale.
  • Develop security observability and detection systems that enable real time monitoring of all our global production assets.
  • Contribute to secure development efforts across engineering, via building security CI/CD pipelines, and automated remediation tools.
  • Leverage AWS services, adhering to best practices to secure DoorDash’s cloud infrastructure.
  • Use technologies such as Terraform and Go to improve deployment processes and promote best security practices for all customers.
  • Secure applications within container environments like GKE, EKS, and Fargate, ensuring they adhere to security standards
  • Participate in on-call triage rotation and promptly respond to security events if any.
  • Collaborate directly with engineering and security leaders to implement security strategy for DoorDash’s cloud infrastructure and applications.
We’re excited about you because…
  • 6+ years of experience as a software engineer in an information security or infrastructure engineering discipline.
  • Able to demonstrate a track record of driving improvements to a company’s infrastructure security posture.
  • Breadth of technical experience across various infrastructure and security areas running in large production environments.
  • You are an expert in Backend development, specifically using Golang, Kotlin, and Protobuf.
  • Expertise with cloud infrastructure and management in AWS.
  • Experience solving complex, systemic issues that require creative thinking and solutions.
  • Exceptional analytical and investigative abilities with hands-on and programming experience leading root cause analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - you can understand and review security design with respect to cloud infrastructure to security and engineering personnel.
  • Experience in CI/CD pipelines to automate security testing.

Compensation

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location.Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

That's why we offer a comprehensive benefits package to all regular employees, which includes a 401(k) plan with employer matching, paid time off and paid sick leave in compliance with applicable laws (e.g. Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act) (for salaried roles: flexible vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year; for hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), 16 weeks of paid parental leave, a wellness benefit, and a commuter benefit match.

The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographical market up to our highest geographical market within the United States.
