Loft Federal is hiring a cybersecurity-focused engineer in Colorado to design secure space systems. You will integrate RMF/NIST controls, model threats, and lead vulnerability management with DoD-aligned practices.

The role requires strong C++/Python skills, DoD RMF experience, and collaboration with government customers. Onsite work three days per week with up to 10% travel is required.

Competenze

• Active Top Secret clearance (TS/SCI eligibility preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• One IAT Level III certification: CISSP, SecurityX (CASP+), CCNP, or CCSP.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a security focus.
• Hands-on experience with C++ and Python.
• Experience implementing DoD RMF and NIST SP 800-53 controls.
• Experience building RMF artifacts and supporting ATO efforts.
• Knowledge of system hardening and vulnerability management.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Onsite 3 days/week with up to 10% travel.

What You'll Do

• Build cybersecurity into the design and development of space and ground systems.

• Work with government customers, ISSMs, and program teams to keep systems compliant and mission ready.

Must Haves

• Active Top Secret clearance (TS/SCI eligibility preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• One IAT Level III certification: CISSP, SecurityX (CASP+), CCNP, or CCSP
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a security focus, such as systems security engineering or cybersecurity engineering
• Hands-on experience with C++ and Python
• Experience implementing DoD RMF and NIST SP 800-53 controls
• Experience building RMF artifacts and supporting ATO efforts
• Working knowledge of system hardening and vulnerability management
• Solid grasp of secure system architecture
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Must be able to work onsite 3 days per week, and travel up to 10%

• Experience on DoD, Intelligence Community, or national security space programs
• Windows and Linux administration
• Cloud security, Kubernetes, containers, or DevSecOps
• ACAS, Nessus, DISA STIGs, or similar assessment tools

Salary Range: $110,000 USD - $150,000 USD
