Job summary

SpaceX in Redmond, WA is seeking a Software Engineer for Power Optimization (Starlink). You will develop high-performance, safety-critical software guiding 10k+ satellites, building physics models for power and thermal behavior, and optimizing payload usage under energy constraints.

Responsibilities include writing reliable ground/vehicle software, designing constellation simulations, and owning full code lifecycle from development to monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or STEM, or 3+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ or another systems programming language (e.g., Rust).

Responsibilities

• Write reliable ground and vehicle software to control thousands of satellites in LEO.
• Develop constellation optimization algorithms with cross-discipline engineering teams.
• Design future satellite constellations with requirements and simulations.
• Own the complete lifecycle of code: development, testing, rollout, monitoring.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality.
