Qualifications

• 2 years professional experience in SAP Application Development and Support
• 2 years developing custom applications in ABAP, troubleshooting/customizing SAP delivered standard applications, and experience with IDOCs, BAPI, RFCs and Web services
• 2 years experience with Application programming on S/4HANA including RAP, OData, CDS Views, SAP FIORI
• 2 years hands‑on development experience in Eclipse
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

• Support essential enterprise applications and build the technical backbone that drives Apple’s core functions.
• Monitor support quality, ensure process adherence, identify technical improvement areas and automation opportunities, and implement such efforts.
• On-call during assigned on‑call time and respond to production issues promptly; interact with SAP Support Functional, BASIS, and Security teams.
• Handle issue management, proactive system monitoring, upgrades, and minor enhancements; services delivered 24×7 by a globally distributed team.

Within the IS&T organization's SAP Development Team, you will play a crucial role in supporting essential enterprise applications and building the technical backbone that drives Apple’s core functions—including Sales, Retail, Services, Finance and Operations. We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Support Engineer to develop, troubleshoot, and maintain business applications, improving system reliability and security through design contributions.

Apple has large and multifaceted enterprise systems at the core of supporting business needs. The SAP Development Global Support team maintains multiple ABAP, HANA, Java, SAP Portal, UI, and iOS applications. Job responsibilities include monitoring support quality, ensuring process adherence, identifying technical improvement areas and automation opportunities, and implementing such efforts. In the ABAP Production Support Team, the developer is on call during assigned on‑call time and attends to production issues promptly. The role interacts regularly with SAP Support Functional, BASIS, and Security teams. Responsibilities also include issue management, proactive system monitoring, upgrades, and minor enhancements. Services are delivered 24×7 by a globally distributed team.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2 years professional experience in SAP Application Development and Support and external non‑SAP Services
• 2 years developing custom applications in ABAP, troubleshooting/customizing SAP delivered standard applications, and experience with IDOCs, BAPI, RFCs and Web services
• 2 years experience with Application programming on S/4HANA including RAP, OData, CDS Views, SAP FIOR
• 2 years hands‑on development experience in Eclipse
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience in Performance Tuning for ABAP and CDS, HANA applications
• Ability to collaborate closely with Functional Consultants to drive issues to closure
• Must be flexible to participate in rotational on‑call support schedule and respond to production issues immediately
• Knowledge of SAP technologies/frameworks such as SAPUI5 and SAP BTP Services is a plus
• Experience in Production Support projects
• Knowledge of SAP SQLScript for HANA
• Hands‑on experience with API testing tools like Postman, SOAP UI
