Job Description




We are seeking a Software Engineer to develop and maintain scalable web applications. The ideal candidate has experience with Ruby, Rails, MySQL, Apache, JavaScript, CSS, Linux, and Git/Gerrit. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize web solutions in a dynamic environment.

This is a remote role with travel (once in a quarter) to Colorado Springs lab.

Key Responsibilities:

    Develop, maintain, and enhance Ruby on Rails applications.
  • Design and optimize MySQL database schemas and queries.
  • Configure and maintain Apache web server environments.
  • Implement frontend components using JavaScript and CSS.
  • Work with Linux-based environments for deployment and server management.
  • Use Git/Gerrit for version control, code reviews, and collaboration.
  • Ability to understand different frameworks and integration with web application.
  • Debug and optimize applications to improve performance and scalability.
  • Ensure security best practices are followed in web development.
  • Collaborate with other developers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience Proficiency in Ruby and hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails.
  • Strong understanding of MySQL, including schema design and query optimization.
  • Experience with Apache configuration and web hosting.
  • Frontend development skills in JavaScript and CSS.
  • Proficient in working on Linux environments for application deployment and system management.
  • Proficiency with Git/Gerrit for version control and code review workflows.
  • Solid understanding of Docker and kubernetes.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

This position requires overlapping with off-shore team.

Interview Process: After submitting your application, one of our recruiters will review your resume. If your application passes this stage, you will be invited to a 30-minute interview during which a member of our team will ask some basic questions. If you clear the interview, you will enter the main process, which can consist of up to four interviews in total:

  • Coding assessment: Often in a language of your choice.
  • Systems design: Translate high-level requirements into a scalable, fault-tolerant service (depending on role).
  • Real-time problem-solving: Demonstrate practical skills in a live problem-solving session.
  • Meet and greet with the wider team.
  • Our goal is to finish the main process in 2-3 weeks at most.
