STATE STREET CORPORATION is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and document REST APIs powering business applications and client integrations. You will work with a mentorship-driven team to learn microservices, API design, and cloud-native delivery on Azure.

You will gain exposure to Java/Spring Boot or C#/.NET, Git, SQL, and security practices like OAuth 2.0 and JWT while contributing to CI/CD pipelines and automated tests in a collaborative, Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0-2 years of professional software development experience (internships/co-ops valuable).
• Exposure to REST APIs via coursework or projects.
• Familiarity with backend languages/frameworks such as Java, C#, .NET, Spring Boot.
• Git-based source control experience.
• Basic understanding of REST and HTTP.
• JSON and API integration basics.
• Relational databases and SQL basics.
• Foundational OO design patterns.
• Willingness to learn API security (OAuth 2.0, JWT).

About the RoleWe are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our API Engineering team. In this role, you will help design, develop, test, document, and support REST APIs that power business applications, partner integrations, and client-facing services.You will work closely with senior engineers, architects, product managers, quality engineers, and platform teams to learn and apply modern software engineering practices while contributing to secure, scalable, and reliable APIs. mentorship-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAPI DevelopmentAssist in designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend services under the guidance of senior engineers.Build and
